A great addition to a bleed bagI was an Army doc and am now a teacher. I have been putting together a trauma kit in case it is needed and these were the last elements - part of my 'bleed bag'.Clever design, easy to use one-handed with a little bit of practice.Easy to use, well designed, sturdy. I have them individually packed in Ziploc bags and are in my MOAB sling bag ready to go. Hopefully, they will sit there forever, but better to have something you never need than want for something you need and don't have. 4Quality replacement for military issue gearI've not used these in an emergency situation yet (thankfully), but have tested the product and they work just as well as the ones I used to carry in the Army. 5Solid, does the jobI've used these before and pretty standard issue. Do the job, and velcro to keep windlass (tightening rod) in place. We got the 3 pack because we wanted on in our house and both of our cars. I hope we never have to use them but I am glad we have them just in case. Be sure to watch a video on how to use them. There is important information in there. For me 111 minute rule that a limb can survive was something I didn't know. Seems kind of long but medics were convincing. Go 4 inches above. Never put one on a double bone limb (which are lower half of legs or arms) if you can help it. 5The Seem Effective to MeI was reluctant to purchase this product because I was worried about a cheap Chinese knock-off that would fail when needed. Fortunately, I haven't needed to use it for a real injury, but I bought the three pack to test them. If I figured if they failed, I'd send them back. The tourniquets seem to be sturdy and well-constructed. The buckle,windlass, stitching, and clip are beefy and compare closely with my genuine CAT by North American Rescue. The NAR CAT's windlass is a little thicker, but I tested these to pressures beyond what would be needed to stop an arterial bleed and they showed no hint of bending.I tried one out on my left thigh, using the posterior tibial artery as the test. The pulse was obliterated with ease with only a couple turns.The only con is that it's not made in America (reason for 4 stars only). I hate not buying USA and I'm usually willing to pay a little more for made-in-the-America, but at 4-5 times the price, NAR is a little out of my budget as I try to keep a few on hand in the event of a mass casualty incident. 4Underrated! Great investment and saves lives.We took a Stop the Bleed class and learned so much about the use of tourniquets and how they save lives - highly recommend this inexpensive investment. 5
